Good Evening Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

Thank you to CASA for making sure that all our faculty and staff were recognized last week during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!  Everything from the decorations, to the gifts and events and special treats were so thoughtful!  We really appreciated it!

Now don’t forget that the CASA monthly meeting will take place this Wednesday May 14^th at 6:30 pm in our library.  All are welcome to attend.  It will be the last meeting of the 2024-2025 school year! The Clinton Avenue Annual Art Show will take place on Thursday night May 15^th from 6:00- 7:00 pm here at Clinton.  On Friday May 16^th we will have our CASA sponsored Author Visit with Isabella Buono and also on Friday evening, CASA’s “Spring Fling” will take place 5:15 pm – 7:15 pm here at the Clinton Avenue field.  Admission to the Spring Fling is free, but we can no longer take any food orders as the deadline has passed.  Families are welcomed to bring their own picnic dinner or treats if they choose.

Looking forward to next week on Tuesday May 20^th, The ALS “Ride for Life” will be including Clinton Avenue as a stop on their ride to NYC.  Please send all donations in by this Friday May 16^th.  All donations go towards finding a cure for ALS.  All second graders will participate in cheering them on!  The Comsewogue Public Library will hold their annual Summer Reading Program assembly with all of our students on Thursday May 22^nd.  Finally, don’t forget that school is closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday May 26^th.

¡Gracias a CASA por asegurarse de que todos nuestros profesores y personal fueran reconocidos la semana pasada durante la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal!  ¡Todo, desde las decoraciones hasta los regalos, eventos y golosinas especiales, fue muy considerado!  ¡Realmente lo apreciamos!

Ahora no olviden que la reunión mensual de CASA se llevará a cabo este miércoles 14 de mayo a las 6:30 pm en nuestra biblioteca.  Todos son bienvenidos a asistir.  ¡Será la última reunión del ciclo escolar 2024-2025! La Exposición Anual de Arte de Clinton Avenue se llevará a cabo el jueves 15 de mayo por la noche de 6:00 a 7:00 pm aquí en Clinton.  El viernes 16 de mayo tendremos nuestra visita de autor patrocinada por CASA con Isabella Buono y también el viernes por la noche, el "Spring Fling" de CASA se llevará a cabo de 5:15 pm a 7:15 pm aquí en el campo de Clinton Avenue.  La entrada al Spring Fling es gratuita, pero ya no podemos aceptar pedidos de comida ya que la fecha límite ha pasado.  Las familias pueden traer su propia cena de picnic o golosinas si así lo desean.

De cara a la próxima semana, el martes 20 de mayo, The ALS "Ride for Life" incluirá Clinton Avenue como parada en su viaje a Nueva York.  Por favor, envíe todas las donaciones antes de este viernes 16 de mayo.  Todas las donaciones se destinan a encontrar una cura para la ELA.  ¡Todos los estudiantes de segundo grado participarán animándolos!  La Biblioteca Pública de Comsewogue llevará a cabo su asamblea anual del Programa de Lectura de Verano con todos nuestros estudiantes el jueves 22 de mayo.  Finalmente, no olvide que la escuela está cerrada en observancia del Día de los Caídos el lunes 26 de mayo.

Good Evening Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

I’d like to start by thanking CASA for of all their hard work in recognizing Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week!  We started the week with a wonderful breakfast and will end it with an amazing lunch for every staff member in the building.  We all appreciate it very much!
Today we all participated in Dr. Quinn’s Read Aloud focused on “responsibility.”  It is also a “No Homework Tuesday!”  So, do something fun tonight as a family!  This week our first graders will be taking their field trip to Brookhaven National Labs beginning tomorrow through Friday May 9th.  Touch base with your child’s teacher if you have any questions on a specific class’ assigned date. 

Don’t forget that this weekend is “Warrior Weekend!”  On Saturday May 10th from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm make sure to stop by Comsewogue High School to take part in all of the fun!  There will also be a “Food Drive” available between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm if anyone is in need.  The food drive is open to all.

¡Me gustaría comenzar agradeciendo a CASA por todo su arduo trabajo para reconocer la Semana de Agradecimiento a los Maestros y al Personal!  Comenzamos la semana con un maravilloso desayuno y la terminaremos con un almuerzo increíble para todos los miembros del personal del edificio.  ¡Todos lo apreciamos mucho!

Good Evening Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

I’d like to start by saying what a great week it has been here at Clinton Avenue so far.  Our second graders had the opportunity to visit their future school, Terryville Road, to see their Drama Club production of “Aladdin Kids.”  They also had their field trip to Yaphank Farm where they had the chance to see both Stella and Maverick, the famous farm llamas!

Kindergarten and second grade participated in SEL assemblies with Ms. Z that focused on “Growth Mindset.”  Our students are learning that if you believe in yourself you can do anything!  CASA also held their much anticipated Smencil sale today.

Don’t forget that this Sunday May 4th is Star Wars Day at the Comsewogue Community Garden between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm.  There will be plant sale, Star Wars themed bake sale and games and garden merchandise for sale, all to benefit the wonderful Community Garden.  You won’t want to miss out on the fun!  May the fourth be with you!

Looking forward to next week, our first graders will be visiting Brookhaven National Labs for their field trip.  The trips will take place over three days beginning May7th and running through May 9th.  Please refer to your child’s classroom teacher for the date of their trip. Also, Tuesday May 6th is a No Homework Tuesday.

Finally, next week is also Staff Appreciation Week here at Clinton!  As always, we appreciate all that our faculty and staff do for us here at Clinton each and every day!

Buenas noches, estudiantes y familias de Clinton. Este es el Sr. Perla con algunos recordatorios importantes para el resto de esta semana y la próxima.

Me gustaría comenzar diciendo que ha sido una gran semana aquí en Clinton Avenue hasta ahora.  Nuestros estudiantes de segundo grado tuvieron la oportunidad de visitar su futura escuela, Terryville Road, para ver su producción del Club de Drama de "Aladdin Kids".  También tuvieron su excursión a la granja Yaphank, donde tuvieron la oportunidad de ver tanto a Stella como a Maverick, ¡las famosas llamas de la granja!

El jardín de infantes y el segundo grado participaron en las asambleas de SEL con la Sra. Z que se centraron en la "Mentalidad de crecimiento".  ¡Nuestros estudiantes están aprendiendo que si crees en ti mismo, puedes hacer cualquier cosa!  CASA también llevó a cabo su muy esperada venta de Smencil hoy.

No olvides que este domingo 4 de mayo es el Día de Star Wars en el Jardín Comunitario de Comsewogue entre las 11:00 am y las 2:00 pm.  Habrá venta de plantas, venta de pasteles con temática de Star Wars y juegos y productos de jardín a la venta, todo a beneficio del maravilloso Jardín Comunitario.  ¡No querrás perderte la diversión!  ¡Que el cuarto esté contigo!

Esperando con ansias la próxima semana, nuestros estudiantes de primer grado visitarán Brookhaven National Labs para su excursión.  Los viajes se llevarán a cabo durante tres días, comenzando el 7 de mayo y hasta el 9 de mayo.  Por favor, consulte al maestro del salón de clases de su hijo para conocer la fecha de su viaje. Además, el martes 6 de mayo es un martes sin tareas.

Finalmente, la próxima semana también es la Semana de Agradecimiento al Personal aquí en Clinton.  Como siempre, apreciamos todo lo que nuestra facultad y personal hacen por nosotros aquí en Clinton todos los días.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I hope everyone had an amazing Spring Break!  I am so happy to see everyone back at Clinton Avenue having fun and learning.  We have a few upcoming special events that I want to make sure everyone is aware of.  On Monday April 28th our second graders will be visiting Terryville Elementary School to see their drama club production of “Aladdin Kids”.  Then on Tuesday April 29th Grade 2 students will be visiting Yaphank Farm for their annual field trip.  Also, all grades will be participating in this month’s SEL assemblies with Ms. Zariello over the next week. 

Finally, please make a note that there will be a CASA Smencil sale in the morning on Wednesday April 30th.  So far, its been a great start to Spring here at Clinton!

Primero, ¡espero que todos hayan tenido unas vacaciones de primavera increíbles!  Estoy muy feliz de ver a todos en Clinton Avenue divirtiéndose y aprendiendo.  Tenemos algunos eventos especiales próximos de los que quiero asegurarme de que todos estén al tanto.  El lunes 28 de abril, nuestros estudiantes de segundo grado visitarán la Escuela Primaria Terryville para ver la producción de su club de drama de "Aladdin Kids".  Luego, el martes 29 de abril, los estudiantes de 2º grado visitarán la granja Yaphank para su excursión anual.  Además, todos los grados participarán en las asambleas de SEL de este mes con la Sra. Don’t forget that this month’s CASA meeting will take place tomorrow April 9th at 6:30 pm in our library.

Also, remember that schools will be closed for Spring Break beginning on Friday April 11th and running through Monday April 21st.  School will reopen on Tuesday April 22nd. 

When we return on the 22nd, our Kindergarten will be visiting Comsewogue High School to see their student production of “Into the Woods.”  As always, I know it will be an amazing performance.

Finally, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Passover, Easter and Spring Break!  See you all on Tuesday April 22nd.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I would like to thank CASA for coordinating an amazing “VIP” Dance at The Meadow Club this past Thursday.  Everyone looked sharp and we all had a great time!

This week we had our April “No Homework Night” on Tuesday and we all participated in Dr. Quinn’s monthly “Read Aloud” which focused on “Trustworthiness.” 

This Friday April 4th our first graders will participate in a special assembly about native animals given by the Sweet Briar Nature Center.  

The CASA Spring Fundraiser Catalogs have also been sent home. Please consider supporting this fundraiser as all proceeds go directly to future events for our children.  All orders need to be in by Monday April 7th.

Also, CASA is sponsoring a “Q & A” night on Thursday April 3rd from 6:30 – 8:00 pm at Panera. CASA is looking for interested parents to join the CASA Board for the next school year.  Several positions are available and they will be at Panera to meet with you and answer any questions you might have. The next CASA meeting will take place next Wednesday April 9th at 6:30 pm in our library.

Finally, please mark your calendars, as school will be closed for Spring Break beginning on Friday April 11th and running through Monday April 21st.  School will reopen on Tuesday April 22nd.

En primer lugar, me gustaría agradecer a CASA por coordinar un increíble baile "VIP" en The Meadow Club el jueves pasado.  ¡Todos se veían bien y todos lo pasamos muy bien!

Esta semana tuvimos nuestra "Noche sin tareas" de abril el martes y todos participamos en la "Lectura en Voz Alta" mensual del Dr. Quinn, que se centró en la "Confiabilidad". 

Este viernes 4 de abril, nuestros estudiantes de primer grado participarán en una asamblea especial sobre animales nativos impartida por el Centro de la Naturaleza Sweet Briar.  

Los catálogos de recaudación de fondos de primavera de CASA también se han enviado a casa. Por favor, considere apoyar esta recaudación de fondos, ya que todas las ganancias van directamente a futuros eventos para nuestros niños.  Todos los pedidos deben enviarse antes del lunes 7 de abril.

Además, CASA está patrocinando una noche de "Preguntas y Respuestas" el jueves 3 de abril de 6:30 a 8:00 pm en Panera. Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

This week our Kindergarten participated in our monthly SEL assembly on Tuesday. Second Grade had their assembly today and first grade has their SEL assembly on Thursday.  Ms. Z., our social worker is helping us learn all about “Mindfulness” and “calming” techniques at each of these super fun and interactive assemblies. 

Also, don’t forget that this Thursday night March 27th is our CASA sponsored VIP Dance at The Meadow Club.  There are no walk-ins at the door, as all tickets had to be pre-purchased.  This is sure to be a great night for everyone who attends!  Thanks to CASA for all of their hard work in making it happen!

Second trimester report cards will be released on Friday March 28th.  Please be on the lookout for a hardcopy of your child’s report card in their backpacks. Please sign and return the envelope.  Keep the report card for your records.

Finally, don’t forget that school will be closed on Monday March 31st in observance of the Eid al Fitr holiday.

Esta semana, nuestro Kindergarten participó en nuestra asamblea mensual de SEL el martes. El segundo grado tuvo su asamblea hoy y el primer grado tiene su asamblea SEL el jueves.  Sra. Z., nuestra trabajadora social nos está ayudando a aprender todo sobre "Mindfulness" y técnicas de "calma" en cada una de estas asambleas súper divertidas e interactivas.   

Además, no olvide que este jueves 27 de marzo por la noche es nuestro Baile VIP patrocinado por CASA en The Meadow Club.  No hay personas sin cita previa en la puerta, ya que todas las entradas tuvieron que comprarse con anticipación.  ¡Seguro que será una gran noche para todos los que asistan!  ¡Gracias a CASA por todo su arduo trabajo para hacerlo realidad!

Los boletines de calificaciones del segundo trimestre se publicarán el viernes 28 de marzo.  Por favor, esté atento a una copia impresa de la boleta de calificaciones de su hijo en sus mochilas. Por favor, firme y devuelva el sobre.  Guarde la boleta de calificaciones para sus registros.

I want to begin by thanking CASA and all of our talented students and faculty for an outstanding Talent Show this past Friday night! Clinton Avenue definitely has talent!  

Now, this Friday March 21st we will be recognizing “World Down Syndrome Day” by inviting everyone to “Rock their Socks!” So, be sure to wear your craziest socks.  Also, don’t forget that Friday March 21st is the district “Emergency Evacuation Drill.”  Students will be dismissed 15 minutes earlier on this day.  Walkers will be dismissed by 3:00 pm and buses will be departing by 3:25 pm.  Please be at the bus stop 15 minutes earlier than usual. Please return the signed notification that you are aware of the early dismissal on this date.

Finally, you should have received the flyer home for the “Someone Special Dance” at The Meadow Club on March 27th.  Admission is $35.00 per person and includes dinner, DJ and of course, lots of fun!  Please RSVP by March 21st.

I want to begin by saying that we had an amazing time last week celebrating “Read Across America Week.”  Thank you to CASA for organizing the third RIF book distribution and our Spring Scholastic Book Fair.  We had an even more amazing time at our first “Storytime Night!”  We loved being read to in our pajamas.  Thanks to CASA and our teacher volunteers for all of the fun! A special thank you goes out to the Comsewogue High School Science Honor Society for an awesome “STEM Night.”  We loved learning about science and performing hands-on experiments! 

Well, looking forward to this week, the March CASA meeting will be held tonight night March 11th at 6:30 pm in our library.  If you are interested in holding a position on the CASA Board, please make sure to attend tonight. Our Annual Career Day is scheduled for Wednesday March 12th. 

Students are encouraged to come dressed for a career of their choice.  Spring Photos are scheduled for Thursday March 13th.  Everyone should come dressed to impress.  Finally, our Clinton Avenue Talent Show is taking place this Friday night March 14th from 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Performers must arrive by 6:00 pm.  You won’t want to miss it! A big thank you to CASA for coordinating this event and to all of our talented students and faculty who will be performing!

Quiero comenzar diciendo que la semana pasada la pasamos increíble celebrando la "Semana de la Lectura en Estados Unidos".  Gracias a CASA por organizar la tercera distribución de libros de RIF y nuestra Feria del Libro Escolar de Primavera.  ¡Pasamos un momento aún más increíble en nuestra primera "Noche de Cuentos!"  Nos encantaba que nos leyeran en pijama.  ¡Gracias a CASA y a nuestros maestros voluntarios por toda la diversión! Un agradecimiento especial a la Sociedad de Honor de Ciencias de la Escuela Secundaria Comsewogue por una increíble "Noche STEM".  ¡Nos encantó aprender sobre ciencia y realizar experimentos prácticos!

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

As you know, this week we are celebrating “Read Across America Week.”  Our teachers will be incorporating fun reading activities all week in every classroom and tomorrow Wednesday, March 5th everyone is invited to participate in “Wacky Wednesday!”  Students can wear their craziest clothes!  We are also having our third CASA sponsored RIF book distribution during the day. Now, tomorrow night from 6:00 – 7:30 pm is also our first CASA sponsored “Storytime Night.”  Those students who signed up in advance to attend may wear pajamas and hear stories read to them by our teacher volunteers.  The Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be held on Thursday March 6th and Friday March 7th.  Classroom teachers will send home notices of your child’s scheduled class visit to the book fair.  

Now, Don’t forget that Friday night March 7th is our interactive “STEM Night” sponsored by the Comsewogue High School Science National Honor Society.  In order to attend, students had to have submitted their permission slip by this past Friday. There are no “walk-ins” at the door.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I wanted to say “Welcome Back” to all of our students and families.  I hope that everyone had a great Mid-Winter Break and spent some fun family time together. This week our students participated in this month’s SEL assembly focused on “Empathy.”  These are wonderful, interactive assemblies facilitated by Ms. Z., our school social worker. In addition, Tuesday was our “100th Day of School!”  We had so much fun looking for 100 hidden rubber ducks throughout the school and our Kindergarten participated in an assembly with “100th Day of School” songs and counting activities.

Primero, quería decir "Bienvenidos de nuevo" a todos nuestros estudiantes y familias.  Espero que todos hayan tenido unas excelentes vacaciones de invierno y hayan pasado un rato divertido en familia juntos. Esta semana nuestros estudiantes participaron en la asamblea SEL de este mes enfocada en "Empatía".  Estas son asambleas maravillosas e interactivas facilitadas por la Sra. Z., nuestra trabajadora social escolar. Además, el martes fue nuestro "Día 100 de Clases".  Nos divertimos mucho buscando 100 patos de goma escondidos en toda la escuela y nuestro jardín de infantes participó en una asamblea con canciones del "Día 100 de la Escuela" y actividades de conteo.

This week, from February 10th through February 14th is “Random Acts of Kindness Week.” Feel free to have your children participate in each themed day.  Please refer to the previously distributed flyer for specific daily themes.  Also, don’t forget to fill out your Talent Show permission slip, if you are interested in showcasing your talents!  The permission slips need to be returned, no later than Friday February 14th.  Your teachers and I cannot wait to perform for everyone at the Talent Show! You won’t want to miss it!

Now, Second Graders are having their Ukulele Concerts this week, Monday through Wednesday at 2:30 pm.  Please check the dates for your specific class on the previously distributed flyer.  Feel free to call the main office with any questions.

There will also be a CASA meeting on Wednesday February 12th at 6:30 pm in our library.  All are welcomed to attend.  There are many upcoming events and activities to discuss.

Don’t forget that Mid-Winter break is scheduled for next week February 17th through February 21st, so schools will be closed.  The first day back will be Monday February 24th, so make sure to mark your calendars.

February 10th through February 14th is “Random Acts of Kindness Week.” A flyer should have come home with your child describing all the special themed days or events.  Also, don’t forget to fill out your Talent Show permission slip, if you are interested in showcasing your talents!  The permission slips need to be returned, no later than Friday February 14th.  Even your teachers and I have something special planned for the Talent Show! You won’t want to miss it!

First, I would like to remind everyone that the January CASA meeting is scheduled for tonight at 6:30 pm in the library.  All are welcome to attend.  There are many fun and exciting upcoming events to discuss.  Also, a big thank you to our CASA volunteers who helped with the second RIF book distribution today.  All of our students love having the chance to choose a free book of their very own!

This Friday January 17th ends our PARP (Pick a Reading Partner) week.  Please make sure to send in your reading logs and donations.  I am so impressed by how much our students have been reading!  Great job by all!

Now, don’t forget that next Friday night January 24th is Family Fun Bingo Night starting at 6:30 pm in the cafeteria.  Bingo is free, but pre-orders of pretzels must be in by this Friday January 17th.  Water and juice will be for sale that night as well.  This is sure to a be a fun night for everyone.  Hope to see you there!

Finally, don’t forget that school will be closed this Monday January 20th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

First, I would like to welcome everyone back and wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful winter break and enjoyed the time-off with your families.

This week starts the CASA sponsored “Pick a Reading Partner” or “PARP” program which runs through next Friday January 17th.  Today, we all participated in our PARP “Kick-Off” assembly for all grades.  The assembly focused on reading for fun and learning all about the elements of a story. Our reading buddy “Squidgie” even took part!  Please make sure to have all reading logs and any donations in by this Friday January 10th.  

Tonight is a No Homework night and CASA is having a fundraiser at Chipotle from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.  25% of the proceeds will go back to our school for more fun events.  Please consider stopping by and supporting CASA and our kids.  You won’t even have to cook!  

Next week CASA will hold our winter RIF book distribution on Wednesday January 15th. Thank you to CASA for organizing, purchasing and for making sure every student has the opportunity to receive a book of their choice.  Finally, CASA will be holding their January meeting on Wednesday the 15th at 6:30 pm in the Clinton Avenue library.  All are welcomed to attend!

Esta semana comienza el programa "Elija un Socio de Lectura" o "PARP" patrocinado por CASA, que se extiende hasta el próximo viernes 17 de enero.  Hoy, todos participamos en nuestra asamblea "Kick-Off" de PARP para todos los grados.  La asamblea se centró en la lectura por diversión y el aprendizaje de todos los elementos de una historia. ¡Nuestro compañero de lectura "Calamaro" incluso participó!  Por favor, asegúrese de tener todos los registros de lectura y cualquier donación antes de este viernes 10 de enero.

Good Evening Clinton Families.  This is Mr. Pearl with some news and information for the rest of this week and next.

As we are nearing the start of our Winter Break, I wanted to remind everyone of the following:

Our last day of school before Winter Break will be this Friday December 20th.  School will remain closed for the Winter Break beginning Saturday December 21st  through Sunday January 5th .  Our first day back will be Monday January 6th .  Don’t forget that when we return Tuesday January 7th will be a No Homework Tuesday and also our CASA sponsored Chipotle fundraiser night!  PARP (Pick A Reading Partner) week begins January 6th through January 17th!  Special assemblies and activities are scheduled for this fun annual event.  Flyers and Reading Logs will be coming home with further information. 

It truly has been such a great week here at Clinton Avenue celebrating the holidays with all of the festivities that have been taking place.

A medida que nos acercamos al comienzo de nuestras vacaciones de invierno, quería recordarles a todos lo siguiente:

Nuestro último día de clases antes de las vacaciones de invierno será este viernes 20 de diciembre.  La escuela permanecerá cerrada durante las vacaciones de invierno a partir del sábado 21 de diciembre hasta el  domingo 5 de enero.  Nuestro primer día de regreso será el lunes 6 de enero.  ¡No olvide que cuando regresemos el martes 7 de enero será un martes sin tareas y también nuestra noche de recaudación de fondos Chipotle patrocinada por CASA!  ¡La semana de PARP (Pick A Reading Partner) comienza el 6 de enero hasta el 17 de enero!  Asambleas y actividades especiales están programadas para este divertido evento anual.  Los folletos y los registros de lectura llegarán a casa con más información. 

Realmente ha sido una gran semana aquí en Clinton Avenue celebrando las fiestas con todas las festividades que han tenido lugar. 

Finalmente, si no tengo la oportunidad de verlo personalmente, sepa que toda la facultad y el personal aquí en Clinton Avenue les desea a todos una maravillosa temporada navideña y un feliz y saludable Año Nuevo.  Disfruten de este tiempo libre y del tiempo que pasan con sus familias.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

December is surely flying by and everyone here at Clinton Avenue is full of holiday cheer! Now, don’t forget that the CASA sponsored “Holiday Boutique” is scheduled for this Thursday December 12th and Friday December 13th.  Your child’s teacher will send home a reminder of the scheduled class visit.  Also, CASA’s “Winter Social” will take place this Friday night December 13th here at Clinton Avenue from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.  There will be a DJ, snacks, games, raffles and lots of holiday cheer!  Admission is $10.00 per family and was due by this past Tuesday December 10th. There will be a check-in list upon arrival. All children must be accompanied by an adult. A great time will definitely be had by all!  

Don’t forget First Trimester report cards will post to Schooltool this Friday December 13th.  We will also be sending home a hard copy of each report card for you to review.  Please sign and return the report card envelope to your child’s teacher.  We are hoping to have the paper report cards sent home no later than Monday December 16th.  However, all grades will be visible on Schooltool this Friday.

Looking forward to next week, don’t forget it is “Holiday Spirit Week!”  Monday, December 16th is “Holiday Spirit Day.”  Tuesday, December 17th is “Winter Wonderland Day.”  Wednesday, December 18th is “Grinch Day.”  Thursday, December 19th is “Holiday Sweater Day.” And Friday, December 20th is “Pajama Day.”  Our last day of school before Winter Break will be Friday December 20th and schools will reopen on Monday January 6, 2025.

¡Diciembre seguramente está volando y todos aquí en Clinton Avenue están llenos de alegría navideña! Ahora, no olvides que la "Boutique Navideña" patrocinada por CASA está programada para este jueves 12 y viernes 13 de diciembre.  El maestro de su hijo enviará a casa un recordatorio de la visita programada a la clase.  Además, el "Winter Social" de CASA se llevará a cabo este viernes 13 de diciembre por la noche aquí en Clinton Avenue de 6:00 pm a 8:00 pm.  ¡Habrá un DJ, bocadillos, juegos, rifas y mucha alegría navideña!  La entrada es de $ 10.00 por familia y debía presentarse el pasado martes 10 de diciembre. Y el viernes 20 de diciembre es el "Día del Pijama".  Nuestro último día de clases antes de las vacaciones de invierno será el viernes 20 de diciembre y las escuelas reabrirán el lunes 6 de enero de 2025.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I would like to remind everyone that Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled to be held on Monday night November 25th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday morning November 27th from 8:00 am until 12 noon.  Please refer to your conference reminder form for your scheduled date and time.  Also, please have any donations for our Thanksgiving Food Drive in by tomorrow Friday November 22nd.  Donations of grocery store gift certificates and frozen turkeys are also appreciated.  All donations go to families in need in our own community.  There is also a donation box in the main lobby for a “Sneaker Recycling” program being coordinated by Comsewogue High School students.  Any old sneakers are welcome!

Once again, don’t forget that schools are closed for Parent Teacher conferences on Wednesday November 27th and again on November 28th and 29th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.  Our first day back will be Monday December 2nd.  Also, if needed, make a note that Individual Photo Make-up Day will take place on Thursday December 5th.

First, I would like to remind everyone to be on the lookout for the Parent/Teacher Conference reminder slips that were sent home.  Conferences are scheduled to be held on Monday night November 25th from 6:00 – 9:00 pm and again on Wednesday morning November 27th from 8:00 am until 12 noon.  Also, our Thanksgiving Food Drive began on Tuesday November 12th and will continue through Thursday November 21st.  Flyers have gone home with grade specific requests for non-perishable donations.  Donations of grocery store gift certificates and frozen turkeys are also appreciated.  All donations go to families in need in our own community.  There is also a donation box in the main lobby for a “Sneaker Recycling” program being coordinated by Comsewogue High School students.  Any old sneakers are welcome!

This week we celebrated “World Kindness Day” on November 13th and today November 14th, we wore blue in recognition of “World Diabetes Day.” Next week we will be participating in our November SEL assemblies with Ms. Z, our social worker.  Finally,  Don’t forget that CASA is sponsoring a movie morning at PJ Cinemas to see Moana 2 on Wednesday Nov. 27th.  Cost is $15.00 per person and includes a ticket, candy, small popcorn and soda.  Payment must be received by tomorrow Friday November 15th.  And tomorrow is also Friday, so don’t forget to wear your Comsewogue Blue & Gold!

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

I hope that everyone is enjoying our awesome “Spirit Week!”  I have loved seeing our students and staff come in each day wearing the most inventive and fun spirit wear!  We still have Jersey Day and Blue and Gold Day to participate in this week.  Also, don’t forget that Saturday is Homecoming!  If you and your child are planning to march in the parade, please submit a permission slip and be sure to meet in the JFK parking lot at 11:30 am for check in.  We march over to CHS and the carnival at noon.  Remember there are no drop offs, as parents must participate with their children for this event.

This week on Wednesday October 23rd, the Terryville Fire Department will be here for a Fire Safety assembly and our CASA sponsored Book Fair will take place on Thursday October 24th and Friday October 25th.  Times for individual class visits to the Book Fair will be sent home.

Finally, I would like to thank CASA for coordinating the awesome “Trunk or Treat” event here at Clinton Avenue this past Saturday night!  Everyone had a blast!  Now, don’t forget next week all students will be participating in our October SEL assemblies with our Social Worker, Ms. Zariello.  And of course, it will be Halloween!  Individual teachers will send home information regarding class parties.  Most importantly, students may wear costumes on Halloween, but they must be able to move and participate, including having the ability to use the bathroom.  In addition, no face masks or any type of weapons are allowed. Also, next Friday November 1st will be a joint Clinton and Terryville Pajama Day!

¡Espero que todos estén disfrutando de nuestra increíble "Semana del Espíritu"!  ¡Me ha encantado ver a nuestros estudiantes y personal venir todos los días con la ropa espiritual más ingeniosa y divertida!  Todavía nos queda el Día de Jersey y el Día Azul y Dorado para participar esta semana.  Además, ¡no olvides que el sábado es el regreso a casa!  Si usted y su hijo planean marchar en el desfile, envíe una hoja de permiso y asegúrese de reunirse en el estacionamiento de JFK a las 11:30 a.m. para registrarse.  Marchamos hacia CHS y el carnaval al mediodía.  Recuerde que no hay entregas, ya que los padres deben participar con sus hijos para este evento.

Esta semana, el miércoles 23 de octubre, el Departamento de Bomberos de Terryville estará aquí para una asamblea de seguridad contra incendios y nuestra Feria del Libro patrocinada por CASA se llevará a cabo el jueves 24 y viernes 25 de octubre.  Los horarios de las visitas individuales a la Feria del Libro se enviarán a casa

Finalmente, me gustaría agradecer a CASA por coordinar el increíble evento "Trunk or Treat" aquí en Clinton Avenue el pasado sábado por la noche.  ¡Todos se divirtieron mucho!  Ahora, no olviden que la próxima semana todos los estudiantes participarán en nuestras asambleas SEL de octubre con nuestra Trabajadora Social, la Sra. Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

I hope that everyone enjoyed their three day weekend this past week.  I know that all of our students came back refreshed and ready to learn! This past Tuesday we all participated in Dr. Quinn’s Read Aloud.  We look forward to it every month.  We also participated in Unity Day by wearing the color orange to show how we are kind and care for each other every day here at Clinton Avenue.  

Next week, we have some exciting events happening.  Wednesday October 23rd, the Terryville Fire Department will be here for a Fire Safety assembly and our CASA sponsored Book Fair will take place on Thursday October 24th and Friday October 25th.  Times for individual class visits to the Book Fair will be sent home.   Now, don’t forget that CASA’s “Trunk or Treat” is all set for this Saturday night October 19th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  If you haven’t sent in your permission slip and payment, it’s ok because you can pay at the door on the night of the event.  A special thank you to all the families decorating their car trunks for this event.  Now, next week is Spirit Week which will lead us right into Homecoming next Saturday October 26th.  If you would like to participate remember that Monday is “Red, White and Blue” day, Tuesday is “Character Day”, Wednesday is “Decades Day”, Thursday is “Sports Jersey Day” and Friday is always “Blue and Gold!”  If you are planning to March in the Parade on Saturday October 26th, please return your permission slip so that I have an idea of how many students to expect.  Parents must be present with their children for this event.

Espero que todos hayan disfrutado de su fin de semana de tres días la semana pasada.  ¡Sé que todos nuestros estudiantes regresaron renovados y listos para aprender! Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

So far this week we have had a few special events here at Clinton Avenue.  On Monday we had our first  CASA sponsored “Smencil Sale” of the year.  Everyone is loving their Smencils and “Backpack Buddies.” Today we all participated in an interactive dance assembly called “Sol y Sombra” in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.  The students and I even learned how to flamenco dance!  Don’t forget that tonight the monthly CASA meeting will take place at 6:30 pm in our library.  All are welcome to attend! Finally, Individual School photo’s will be taken this Friday October 11th.  All students should come dressed to impress!

Now, don’t forget that school is closed on Monday October 14th for the Columbus Day Holiday. Next Tuesday October 15th we will all participate in Dr. Quinn’s Read Aloud and on Wednesday October 16th please feel free to wear orange in recognition of Unity Day.  CASA’s “Trunk or Treat” is all set for next Saturday night October 19th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.  We are still in need of some additional trunks.  Please fill out and return the flyer sent home and posted on our Facebook pages.  The more participants, the better the event!

Hasta ahora esta semana hemos tenido algunos eventos especiales aquí en la Avenida Clinton.  El lunes tuvimos nuestra primera "Venta de Smencil" patrocinada por CASA del año.  A todo el mundo le encantan sus Smencils y sus "Backpack Buddies". Hoy todos participamos en una asamblea de danza interactiva llamada "Sol y Sombra" en reconocimiento al Mes de la Herencia Hispana.  ¡Los estudiantes y yo incluso aprendimos a bailar flamenco!  No olvide que esta noche la reunión mensual de CASA se llevará a cabo a las 6:30 pm en nuestra biblioteca.  ¡Todos son bienvenidos a asistir! Por último, las fotos individuales de la escuela se tomarán este viernes 11 de octubre.  ¡Todos los estudiantes deben venir vestidos para impresionar!

Ahora, no olvide que la escuela está cerrada el lunes 14 de octubre por el feriado del Día de Colón. El próximo martes 15 de octubre todos participaremos en la lectura en voz alta del Dr. Quinn y el miércoles 16 de octubre, siéntase libre de vestirse de naranja en reconocimiento al Día de la Unidad.  "Trunk or Treat" de CASA está listo para el próximo sábado 19 de octubre por la noche, de 5:00 a 7:00 pm.  Todavía necesitamos algunos baúles adicionales.  Por favor, rellene y devuelva el folleto enviado a casa y publicado en nuestras páginas de Facebook.  ¡Cuantos más participantes, mejor será el evento!

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I’d like to begin by reminding everyone that school will be closed in observance of the Rosh Hashanah holiday tomorrow Thursday October 3rd and Friday October 4th.

Next week we have a few special events to share.  There will be a CASA sponsored “Smencil Sale” on Monday October 7th immediately following morning attendance. Smencils cost $1.00 each and Backpack Buddies are $5.00 each.  Payment is either cash or check made payable to CASA. On Wednesday  October 9th all students will be participating in an interactive dance assembly “Sol y Sombra” in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month.  Also on Wednesday the monthly CASA meeting will take place at 6:30 pm in our library.  All are welcome to attend! Finally, Individual School Photo’s will be taken on Friday October 11th.  All students should come dressed to impress!

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl with some important reminders for the rest of this week and next.

First, I’d like to begin by sending out a big thank you to all of our families who attended our “Back To School” night and Clinton Avenue School Association (CASA) meeting last Wednesday.  It was great to see everyone and I know that together we will make this a wonderful school year! I’m also extremely proud of all of our students for participating in this year’s “Start with Hello” week. We are especially enjoying participating in Ms. Zariello’s SEL assemblies focusing on how just saying “Hello” can make someone’s day.  I love seeing our students making new friends and spreading kindness.

Now, don’t forget to wear your gold or yellow to show your support for Pediatric Cancer Awareness this Friday September 27th.  Also, if you would like to donate a gift card to the Stony Brook Pediatric Oncology unit, please send it on by Friday as well. Next Tuesday, October 1st, students and staff can wear pink to support Breast Cancer Awareness. Dr. Quinn will also do her next read aloud for all of our students and it is also a “No Homework” Tuesday.  Most importantly, don’t forget that school is closed next Thursday October 3rd and Friday October 4th in observance of the Rosh Hashanah holiday.  I hope that everyone enjoys their weekend and gets ready for a great new week here at Clinton Avenue!

Primero, me gustaría comenzar enviando un gran agradecimiento a todas nuestras familias que asistieron a nuestra noche de "Regreso a la Escuela" y a la reunión de la Asociación Escolar de la Avenida Clinton (CASA) el miércoles pasado.  ¡Fue genial ver a todos y sé que juntos haremos de este un año escolar maravilloso! También estoy extremadamente orgulloso de todos nuestros estudiantes por participar en la semana "Start with Hello" de este año. Estamos disfrutando especialmente de participar en las asambleas SEL de la Sra. Zariello que se centran en cómo el simple hecho de decir "Hola" puede alegrarle el día a alguien.  Me encanta ver a nuestros estudiantes hacer nuevos amigos y difundir la bondad.

Ahora, no olvide usar su dorado o amarillo para mostrar su apoyo a la Concientización sobre el Cáncer Pediátrico este viernes 27 de septiembre.  Además, si desea donar una tarjeta de regalo a la unidad de oncología pediátrica de Stony Brook, envíela también antes del viernes.   El próximo martes 1 de octubre, los estudiantes y el personal pueden vestirse de rosa para apoyar la concientización sobre el cáncer de mama. La Dra. Now, Don’t forget to wear your blue and gold on Friday to show your Comsewogue Spirit.  You may also wear gold or yellow to show your support for Pediatric Cancer Awareness.  Finally, don’t forget that tomorrow is our annual “Back to School BBQ” from 4:15 to 6:15.  In the event of inclement weather the BBQ will take place in our cafeteria and gym.  Don’t forget to visit the Comsewogue Community Garden this Sunday September 22nd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm for the annual “Fall Festival.”  There will be crafts, activities and lots of fun!

Finally, next week every grade will participate in our monthly SEL assemblies with Ms. Zariello, our Social Worker.

Ahora, no te olvides de vestir tu azul y dorado el viernes para mostrar tu espíritu Comsewogue.  También puede usar oro o amarillo para mostrar su apoyo a la Concientización sobre el Cáncer Pediátrico.  Por último, no olvides que mañana es nuestra "Barbacoa de vuelta al cole" anual de 4:15 a 6:15.  En caso de inclemencias meteorológicas, la barbacoa se llevará a cabo en nuestra cafetería y gimnasio.  No olvide visitar el Jardín Comunitario de Comsewogue este domingo 22 de septiembre de 11:00 a.m. a 2:00 p.m. para el "Festival de Otoño" anual.  ¡Habrá manualidades, actividades y mucha diversión!

Finalmente, la próxima semana todos los grados participarán en nuestras asambleas mensuales de SEL con la Sra. Zariello, nuestra Trabajadora Social.

Good Evening Clinton Families!  This is Mr. Pearl with some important news and reminders for the rest of this week and next.  

First, Don’t forget that our Back to School Night will take place this coming Wednesday night September 18th beginning at 6:30 pm.  Classroom presentations will take place as follows:

Kindergarten – 6:30-7:00 pm
Grade 2  – 7:00 – 7:30 pm
Grade 1 – 7:30 – 8:00 pm

Please refer to the Back to School Reminder flyers for further information including times for Special Area and Support Teachers.  Also, please note that childcare will be available at our building in the cafeteria on this evening.  

The first PTA meeting of the year will also take place at 6:00 pm in the library, just prior to the Back to School classroom presentations.  We hope to see you there!  Make sure to sign up for your annual membership!

Next week we will be participating in our Start With Hello week activities. Start With Hello is a program created by the Sandy Hook Promise that teaches students to reach out, be kind and include everyone.  These are things we strive to do every day at Clinton.  

Don’t forget that CASA is sponsoring our Annual Clinton Avenue Back to School BBQ on Friday September 20th  at 4:15 pm.  Please send in your confirmation slip and payment no later than this Friday September 13th.

Finally, each year during the month of September we recognize and support finding a cure for all types of Pediatric Cancer.  This month our building will be collecting gift cards to distribute to patients in the Stony Brook Pediatric Oncology Unit.  Please send any donations to our main office.

Primero, no olviden que nuestra Noche de Regreso a Clases se llevará a cabo el próximo miércoles 18 de septiembre por la noche a partir de las 6:30 pm.  Las presentaciones en el aula se llevarán a cabo de la siguiente manera:

Jardín de infantes – 6:30-7:00 pm
Grado 2 – 7:00 – 7:30 pm
Grado 1 – 7:30 – 8:00 pm

Good Evening Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl. I hope that everyone had an awesome first few days back to school!  I know I did. It was great to see everyone, welcome our new kindergartners and catch up with our first and second graders.  It will definitely be an amazing year!

Now, there are a few special events happening this week that I want to make everyone aware of.  On Tuesday September 9th , Dr. Quinn will be having her first read aloud of the year.  Every class will be tuning in for this fun learning activity.  On Wednesday, September 11th everyone is encouraged to wear red, white and blue in remembrance of the significance of this day.  We will also be having a brief assembly focusing on what it means to be a “hero.”  

Also, be on the lookout for Free and Reduced lunch forms that will be backpacked home early next week.  Although lunch and breakfast are free this year, we ask that everyone complete and return the forms to the main office as they will help us to secure future funding for our lunch programs.

Look out for the Welcome Back BBQ flyer sponsored by the Clinton Avenue School Association (CASA).  The BBQ will take place on Friday September 20th  from 4:15 – 6:15 pm.  There is sure to be lots of food and fun!  The cost is $8.00 per person, but only if you are eating at the BBQ.  There is no cost to come and just have some fun!  Permission slips and payment must be in no later than Friday September 13th .  I hope to see you there!

Finally, please don’t forget to join CASA our Clinton Avenue School Association.  Membership forms have been sent home. The class with the most memberships will win an ice cream party. All are welcome to join and get involved!

Once again, it was a fantastic first few days and I know it will be a super year.

Buenas noches, estudiantes y familias de Clinton. Este es el Sr. Pearl. ¡Espero que todos hayan tenido unos primeros días increíbles de regreso a la escuela!  Sé que lo hice. Fue genial ver a todos, dar la bienvenida a nuestros nuevos niños de kindergarten y ponernos al día con nuestros estudiantes de primer y segundo grado.  ¡Definitivamente será un año increíble!

Ahora, hay algunos eventos especiales que están sucediendo esta semana de los que quiero que todos estén al tanto.  El martes 9 de septiembre, la Dra. Quinn tendrá su primera lectura en voz alta del año.  Cada clase se sintonizará para esta divertida actividad de aprendizaje.  El miércoles 11 de septiembre se anima a todos a vestirse de rojo, blanco y azul en recuerdo de la importancia de este día.  También tendremos una breve asamblea que se centrará en lo que significa ser un "héroe".  

Además, esté atento a los formularios de almuerzo gratis y reducido que se llevarán a casa con mochila a principios de la próxima semana.  Aunque el almuerzo y el desayuno son gratuitos este año, pedimos que todos completen y devuelvan los formularios a la oficina principal, ya que nos ayudarán a asegurar fondos futuros para nuestros programas de almuerzo.

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl. I hope that everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer vacation!  I can’t wait to welcome all of our students back!  With that in mind, I’m calling with some important reminders for the upcoming week.

Don’t forget that the first two days of school on Wednesday September 4th and Thursday September 5th are half days.  Students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm.  If your child is a walker, please note that the walker door will open 15 minutes prior to dismissal.  In addition, please send in any notes regarding changes in dismissal or pick-up.  Also, be reminded that although breakfast will be provided, there will be no lunch served on these shortened days.  Our first full day of school will be Friday September 6th.

Also, CASA will be hosting a “Welcome Back – Chalk the Walk” in front the main entrance on Tuesday September 3rd from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, weather permitting.  Let’s share some positive messages for the start of an amazing new school year!

The last part of my message is for all of my students.  I am so excited to have you all back.  I have been practicing my morning song and my afternoon bus song.  I hope you will all join in and help to teach our new students our songs and make them feel special.  We are all going to have an awesome new school year!  Rest up and I’ll see everyone soon!

No olvides que los dos primeros días de clases, el miércoles 4 y el jueves 5 de septiembre, son medios días.  Los estudiantes saldrán a las 12:15 pm.  Si su hijo es un andador, tenga en cuenta que la puerta del andador se abrirá 15 minutos antes de la salida.  Además, envíe cualquier nota sobre cambios en el despido o recogida.  Además, recuerde que aunque se proporcionará desayuno, no se servirá almuerzo en estos días acortados.  Nuestro primer día completo de clases será el viernes 6 de septiembre.

Además, CASA organizará un "Welcome Back – Chalk the Walk" frente a la entrada principal el martes 3 de septiembre de 2:00 a 4:00 pm, si el clima lo permite.  ¡Compartamos algunos mensajes positivos para el comienzo de un increíble nuevo año escolar!

Good Afternoon Clinton students and families. This is Mr. Pearl. I hope that you have been having an awesome summer!  I’ve missed everyone so much.  I’m calling with some important reminders for the upcoming week.

Don’t forget that Kindergarten Round-Up is taking place this coming Monday August 26th at 9:00 am here at Clinton Avenue.  I’ll be doing a super fun read aloud.  Our new Kindergartners can visit their classroom and take a short ride on the big school bus.  I’ll even share some tips for parents on how to make the first days of school a bit easier.  Members of the Clinton Avenue School Association (CASA) will be there as well to assist and answer any questions.

Also, remember that Tuesday August 27th from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon is our Elementary School Visit Day.  Don’t forget to stop by, peek in your new classroom and drop off your labeled supplies on the table outside of your classroom, if you would like.

Now, mark your calendars for the first two days of school on Wednesday September 4th and Thursday September 5th.  Remember, both of those days are half days with dismissal at 12:15 pm, so please make any childcare arrangements necessary.  Be reminded that although breakfast will be provided, there will be no lunch served on these half days.  Our first full day of school will be Friday September 6th.

No olviden que el Kindergarten Round-Up se llevará a cabo el próximo lunes 26 de agosto a las 9:00 am aquí en Clinton Avenue.  Haré una lectura súper divertida en voz alta.  Nuestros nuevos niños de kindergarten pueden visitar su salón de clases y dar un corto viaje en el gran autobús escolar.  Incluso compartiré algunos consejos para los padres sobre cómo hacer que los primeros días de escuela sean un poco más fáciles.  Los miembros de la Asociación Escolar de Clinton Avenue (CASA) también estarán allí para ayudar y responder cualquier pregunta.
